Bear with me that I am not an Economist neither I am a graduate student of Economics. But my first interest in activism was Economics. This happen after a year of soul searching in understanding the question " What and who actually is the most powerful and influential thing/person in modern days? Is it politics and politicians? Or Economics and economist?"

I have done an extensive research and based on my earlier judgement, on surface level of the problem, Economics is more powerful and influential subject matter than politics when it comes to the socio-economic condition of a nation. Well you can disagree with me in this matter but if you think hard enough and try to relate the influence of corporations in our modern world today, you will see the true picture of it. Oh of course those days I was into Karl Marx, Ali Shariati and the rest of Frankfurt School members. Well I hope you will enjoy this lecture and sorry for the low quality of the audio.

well, bangga lak bile nta sanggup berhujah dgn ana, hehe. ana kagum dgn kemampuan nta menelaah ilmu2 yg berat pengisiannye, which is pd peringkat ana masih dlm peringkat permulaan.. :)

cume ini just pndapat peribadi, ana lg suke kalo nta gunekan "nta" instead of "antum"..lebih mesra, lebih mudah difahami, sbb takut2 org yg bace komen nie mgkin sbnrnye ade yg x setuju dgn ana, mgkin ade yg neutral dsb..

personally, and honestly, ana just terkesan dgn my colleagues yg kdg2 terlalu mmperjuangkan idealisme smpai lupe mmber2,sdgkn mmber2 or sahabat2 ni point pnting dlm perjuangan.. kalo nk kate mudah, nabi s.a.w. pn bleh bawak islam ni sorg2, tp ALLAH tunjukkan hikmah sahabat2 or companion ni utk jadi teladan pd kite, bile kte bergerak, jgn sesekali lupekan mmber2 kite yg kdg2 x paham, x pandai dsb..

ana ckp terus terang, pada ana nta aset yg besar utk kita.. pemikiran nta satu pemikiran yg global, mmpu mmberi input bermanfaat yg kadang2 ade sahabat2 kite x nmpak.. cume, diorg xknal nta, or just certain figure je yg rapat dgn nta..kami raikan nta, cume kdg2 nk jmpa ngan nta pn payah dah dlu.. nk jmpa dlm usrah pn da payah, sdgkn time tu la nk bncang smbang2 hal masing2.. :)

cume, setiap org ade capability yg tersendiri.. ade certain org yg dah ade basis@foundation yg kuat dari sudut pegangan haraki..org2 gini pada ana kalo die nk terima or tolak pndapat nta,itu no komen, sbb masing2 ade hujah masing2.. tp utk org2 yg xde basis haraki, memberatkan dgn persoalan2 yg tak sepatutnya hanya mmbuatkan hidup makin bercelaru..

but that's just my two cents..u may still argue if you want..:)

p/s: pasal God is my CEO tu ana rase xperlu ulas kot. cume ana define CEO tu as kuasa mutlak, as CEO bukan setakat KPI, die nk pecat org tu bile2 mase bleh.. dlm ilmu tauhid, bile kite nk kate bab sifat ALLAH, wajib dlm hati kite percaya yg sifat ALLAH totally different dgn sifat makhluk. CEO yg nta maksudkan tu makhluk, tp ana qasadkan CEO ni penguasa seluruh kehidupan..ha gitu..itu ape yg ana blaja gak la dlm ilmu tauhid.. same gak la dlu Nik Aziz kate Tuhan ni samseng..dlm real world, samseng ni mmg hok jahat sungguh.. tp ape tafsiran Tuan Guru? my disclaimer, kalo x setuju xpe, ana tulis "God is my CEO", bukan "God is our CEO"..n again, ana xde masalah kalo nta nk argue..:)

n ilmu mantiq ni ilmu logik..kene ade sandaran tauhid jugerr..:)

ana penah tnya maksud sosialiskanan kat hisyam..tp mcm die tergaru2 kepala jer bile ana hujah..mgkin nta ade penjelasan yg lagi baik?

wallahua'lam..sekadar melontarkan pndapat utk kebaikan kite berdua insyaALLAH.. :)

Assalamualaikum,

Just a comment on the quality of video, it could help if there is less "background commentary". :)

Perhaps the slides can also be improved, too much words.

I disagree with the reason that you put forth of why people give out Nobel prizes, it seems far too simplistic. You have to understand that Nobel prizes are given by a committee, and these people are not blind to the ideas that you have said. I find such saying things rather arrogant, in some sense of the word.

"If he does wrong things, we need to go to the streets and protest". Is it the only way to show dissent? There are other ways to protest. And your ideas perhaps may not be 100% correct. Why not have a public debate first?I am speaking in the context of Malaysia. Not that protests are not important, but you seem to be suggesting that that is the most efficient, if not the only, way.

Can I please ask you to email me the list of books that you read or recommend, as in the critiques of neoliberalism.

As far as I can see, there isn't an undisputable philosophical basis in which refutation of free trade is done. Of course, in terms of economics we need to see what empirical evidence tells us. But I am interested in understanding the philosophical basis behind the critiques. Karl Marx has pronounced the doom of capitalism and Bourgeoisie class, but that hasn't happened yet. In contrast, it is Communism that failed. So perhaps a book or 2 on the philosophical basis of refutation is good?

Thank you. Jzkk
